Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding lead midweek chart update
Pharrell Williams is on path to return to number 1 with his newest hit 'Happy' in the UK. The United State star's current single leads this week's midweek plan update, while Pitbull & Ke$ha's 'Timber' slips to num two. But there are at present just 1,000 copies between the two tracks, so, the top spot could alter by Sunday's last tally. Avicii remains solid at 3 with 'Hey Brother', Jason Derulo is at 4 with 'Trumpets' & Fuse ODG is up from 14 to 5 with 'Million Pound Girl (Badder than Bad). The latest version of Lady Gaga's “Do What U Want” featuring Christina Aguilera lands at number 9, while Hardwell is on path to score his first UK Top forty hit with 'Dare You' at 23. Elsewhere, Broadway star Idina Menzel could also make her UK Top 40 debut with her version of 'Let It Go', which features in the new Disney animation Frozen. Over on the album chart, Ellie hangs on to the number one place with Halcyon Days. But, BeyoncĂ©'s self-titled 5th studio album is just behind at two, with less than seven hundred copies separating them at this midweek stage.
